My doctor prescribed me , escitalopram 5mg because I am a baby when it comes to taking medicine. I'm still very nervous to try it, but I feel like I should because I can no longer live my life , being afraid to go places, and feeling panicky all the time. I thought I could get over it myself but I cant, I use a lot of aromatherapy oils to help me relax if I'm feeling anxious, or panicky. I just want to know some of yall experiences from this medication. maybe it will give me a push to try the medicine. Thank You!
It sounds like you are ready to try a med to help you. There are no guarantees that you will or will not get side effects the first couple of weeks. Everyone is different. If you do get them try to stay with it for 4 weeks, as usually by that time the side effects start to lessen or go away. It is good that you are starting at a low dose. Have you tried therapy? It may help you with some coping skills along with your meds if you choose to start them.
Give yourself time to be motivated enough to start your med, it will help you stick with it.
Panic and anxiety suck!
I hope it all works out for you soon.
I was on this medication for nearly 10 years and I honestly don't remember any side effects initially my doc put me in citolapram and it made me really anxious after about 2 weeks they changed me to escitolapram and I was fine I actually felt a difference after about a week.
I was on 20mg and it was a brilliant medication I was on it for depression.
5mg is a very low dose 20mg is the maximum.
You've nothing to loose by trying it I wish you the very best of luck just remember your not alone.xx
