Hi Today I have complete 28 days on 5mg. I have had some good effects in the last four weeks on and off. I take 20mg propanol x3 per day to take the physical effects. One day I feel great then the next day can be a dip. I went back to the doctor today and asked about a dosage increase and he was really against it. He thinks the 5mg is enough. I am not so sure purely because the positive effects have been inconsistent. I would like to go up to 10mg. He think that’s if I wait another two weeks I will be fine. I am not feeling good at all since coming back and was hoping someone could give me some advice. I was thinking of maybe seeing another dr for a different opinion. My doctor basically left me feeling like these pills will never really work for me in the long run.
Hi, again! 5mg is a very low dose... 10mg is the recommended dosage... but it can take quite a while to feel the full beneficial effects: "Sleep, energy, or appetite may show some improvement within the first 1-2 weeks. Improvement in these physical symptoms can be an important early signal that the medication is working. Depressed mood, anxiety, and lack of interest in activities may need up to 6-8 weeks to fully improve." Perhaps you could give it a bit longer as your doctor has recommended, but if you don't see significant improvement soon it's time for a sit down with her/him or time for a second opinion. Good luck and I hope you continue feeling better! WC
