Only rarely as it is not effective against the number one bacterial cause of a UTI; E. Coli sp. It is active against the second major source which is Staphylococcus sp. Basically it is useless for treating UTI's which is why antibiotics like Bactrim are used (the drug of choice) or a pre-mixed antibiotic cocktail.
