i went to my doctor and asked if i could see a dematologist because my dad wanted to see a professional for my skin although my doctor prescribed me epiduo, she told me to only use it at night, rinse my face, use dove and then apply a thin layer all over my face, although i dont have acne at all i just have a couple of zits and dark spots and i dont want this product to worsen my skin...
Epiduo gel contains a combination of adapalene and benzoyl peroxide. Adapalene is similar to vitamin A. It helps the skin renew itself. Benzoyl peroxide has an antibacterial effect. It also has a mild drying effect, which allows excess oils and dirt to be easily washed away from the skin. It is used to treat severe acne.
A skin irritation may appear when first starting Epiduo but it is generally mild or moderate with some local symptoms (redness, dryness, scaling and burning). This usually peaks during the first two weeks and then subsides. A moisturiser applied during the day may help with this. If your reaction is severe you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist who may suggest that you use the cream less often.
