My dance with the devil began before there were computers as well as maintaing medical records. Have i already reached the point of no return? I know in my heart i have been robbed of any kind of quality of life! Im 64 on disability have withdraw from life in general as my conditions are so many who would believe me! Is the therapy for what ails you always steroids? In my case, most definetly!
Would an endocrinologist be a good start as to hopefully repairing damages done from long term use?

Therapy for ulcerative colitis was prednisone for some 15 years. For other conditions crohns, pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, staph, skin disorders, muscular, fractures, high blood pressure, circulatory collapse, tendon ruptures! O yeah mild stroke! Bone density of a 90 year old, muscle loss, throw some antibiotics (levofloxacin) in the mix and the word torture comes to mind
Hi Shirley, I'm not sure there is a solution, my step father took prednisone for 20 years, leaving his bones staggeringly fragile; his daughter is a well known endocrinologist here (in my state) and she could offer him no help that I could tell.
However, it never hurts to ask and a different endocrinologist may have different ideas suited to a younger person such as yourself.
