Hi, I need to take my tapering off of Lorazapam slower this time than the last one that I had explained. (*My dose times now: 5am, 9am, & 1 pm.) Which drug & what dosage shall I use at the very final stage? Which Dose time period shall I end last? Do I really need to switch? Diazapam? Clordiazepoxide? Clornazepam? or Prazepam? and what dosage should I consider. If I continue with Lorazapam, I would be down to 3 dose periods of 1/8th mg., or .125mg.- each dose, or 3/8th's mg. -total per day for the 3 doses.
I would strongly advise you to ask the prescribing physician these questions, that's who knows you and your case and that's who can help you with the right medications to achieve your goal with the least amount of complications. It may also be a (is a) good idea to attend some recovery meetings on a regular basis to assist in continuing in a forward direction by avoiding relapse.
Sorry if any of this offends you, it's just an opinion and I hope it helps.
I really don't know about the parts of your questions about tapering and what dosages, but I have recently switched to clonazepam (Klonopin) 1mg once daily for long-term anxiety. (I have an emergency med too in case of panic attacks). Anyway the clonazepam seems to be working alright and does not make me very tired at all. I see my dr again in a month and she will probably increase my dose to 1.5 or 2mg daily. I'd recommend you ask your doctor about this medicine for long-term therapy. Just my opinion but this med seems to be a good one so far! :)
