... depressed feeling which is great. I am thinking about asking to go up to 9mg but I have concerns. I'm already losing a lot of sleep taking Emsam and I have chronic fatigue syndrome so it is really tough. I also take a ton of sleep medication due to total insomnia from the chronic fatigue. Will the sleep issue get worse on the 9mgs? Also, I like to go out once a month drinking. I have had no problem with the 6mg patch with this but will this interfere with the 9mg patch? I just want to feel happy! Thanks so much for your help!
Hi, there's no harm giving it a go if your doctor agrees? You can take a maximum dose of 12mg, so 9mg is quite safe. I take an antidepressant and i got to the stage where an increase was suggested, and i felt so much better on the higher dose (of course there is the risk of side effects being heightened, so bare that in mind). There are some alcoholic drinks that can be very dangerous when taking with Emsam, i have added a link. There are a lot of food interactions also that you may not be aware of. Please read through the list carefully to stay safe : )
