... morning after pill. Then I had sex again today and took the morning after within 20 minutes of having sex. What do I do? Am I pregnant?
You should be protected, you took it within the time limit. You need to get on a reliable birth control method tho, so you stop taking the morning after pill. They can really mess up your cycle. It would be easier on your nerves too. Don't expect to have a period any time in the next week or so. And don't be surprised if you start feeling nausea and swollen breasts, they are all side effects of the morning after pill.
The time to worry about pregnancy is BEFORE you have sex, not after. Plan b is not birth control, it is not meant to be used as birth control. You did what you could to prevent pregnancy but there are no guarentees that you wont get pregnant when you use a morning after product. If an egg was fertilized and embedded into the womb before taking the morning after product it wont terminate that pregnancy. The only thing you can do now is too wait and see. Dont be surprised if your periods are very irregular for the next few months. Wait until your period is overdue then do a pregnancy test. If you are going to be sexually active, you need to see a Dr and discuss what form of birth control is best for you. In the meantime, you should insist that your partner wear a condom or to just not have sex. Preventing pregnancy before sex is much better than trying to prevent it from happening after.
I, personally, dont like Plan b because I think it makes it too easy for women to say "I can just go ahead and have unprotected sex now and take Plan b later" and Plan b can lead to a lot of stress for a woman because it causes irregularity and it also causes side effects very similar to pregnancy which leads to a great deal of stress until things straighten out again. Hopefully you wont have too much stress and will be ok. Look into getting yourself on the Pill, the patch, NuvaRing, Depo-Provera or some other form of regular birth control. Until then dont allow penetration without a condom.
Like Kaismama said, you should be ok because you took the plan b within the 72 hour time period. But Please fine a regular, reliable form of birth control pill. it is not good for your body to continue to take Emergency Contraception! It is only to be used in emergencies when your regular birth control fails for some reason.
