I have taken so many antidepressants & Benz's for several decades. I started on these drugs in my early 30's. After so long I'm not no longer able to take SSRI'S or SNRI'S and also not able to take Benz's. So once again, I'm having to be a Ginnie pig/lab rat to dry and find another drug that will work for me. Many of the Ones I took didn't work for me. I'm so hoping this medication will do the trick. My younger sister takes Elavil and it really works for her and she has been taking it for quiet a few years. My question is.. "however Silly it may sound from a grown woman." If it Works for her would it possibly work for me the same? I'm so hoping I won't have to be that Ginnie pig again.
Hi fay. To answer your question, yes, since anxiety/depression is often genetic, when one member of a family finds a med that is effective for them, it can possibly work for other family members more effectively than other meds. It calmed me down when I took it, unfortunately, it was a medication that caused me to gain weight. But it that doesn't mean it will do the same to you. I think it would be worth a try, considering that it is successful for your little sister. Good luck! G
Fay I do agree with G mc But make sure you see the doctor and are get your own prescription don't just start on her's It is very important that you be monitored while you are on Medications like this, Plus you sis well run short and not be able to get it when she needs it. So please call your doctors office and make an appointment and let the doctor Evaluate you to make sure that would be the best for your needs. we are all different in the way meds break down but like G mc said it is very likely that you should do well on it if your sister does.
