Hi Nightowl,
Just be aware that depression, anxiety, blood pressure problems, heart rate issues, and many other illness can be attributed, at least partially, to the deregulation of norepinephrine production and function in the body, so that is probably the reason for it with antidepressants such as the effexor. Do a google search on what norepinephrine does and you'll better understand.
Our bodies are run by hormones and they all interact. One cannot function if the others aren't right. One of the functions of norepinephrine is as a stress hormone. so keeping the levels up works with serotonin to decrease anxiety and depression.
Hi Kaismama,
Thank you for that explanation. I do have adrenal insufficiency, along with other issues, so maybe Effexor will help level things out.
The norepinephrine part is supposed to give you energy and make you get going.
