... quick question I have been on Effexor 75 mg for 10 days now and still feel very anxious I just wondered is this normal as I've been having to take Valium as well to get through it I was on lovan for seven weeks and it landed me in the hospital so I'm a bit frightened of the same thing happening again . I see my psychiatrist again on Thursday so I'll be interested to see what he says . I have more problems with anxiety then depression so I'm hoping that the Effexor works. I have problems eating and my lack of motivation to get out there and do stuff also plays on me as I'm quite an active person . I also understand that it's early days but thought I would feel a wee bit better. Any advice from you would be appreciated have a great day. I'm just frightened of all the negativity about coming of this drug as well.
Support66; Chuck1957, again I really feel you have a pretty smart doctor to at least give you some Valium for the start of Effexor XR DUE to how much it kicks us in the butt with anxiety and other things. But later when the doctor raise's the dose 150mg is normal and don't dwell on how hard it is to get off of Effexor, One thing you must learn is there are so many negative people on here at times but for the most part they don't stay long. And there are tricks you can learn to help you when you're going through a panic attack such as breathing exercise, And I have a saying we are our own worse enemy with this JUNK as I call it when we have to take more than one medication to keep us under control. But what has helped me is the Effexor XR we had to raise it a bit because I am having a hard time so I am on 225mg but normally I take 150mg and can do a lot of stuff I have not been able to do years before the Effexor, Please feel free to come on and check things out this is the best site on the web for me. But it is up to you on the Propranolol I started 10mg tablets 4 times daily and it worked better than anything but you may want to wait a bit and see how your doctor feels about it. But remember you must learn tricks when you feel things coming on I find breathing deep in and out slow never fast it will mess you up more, and always remember to keep the faith in whatever, Think Positive and a sense of humor about this whole thing. And when things don't put you under unneeded pressure. There are so many people with problems that it can be good friends and such but nobody talks about it. And remember your going to make it through this.Sorry sometime you may have to read my stuff a few times I have a pretty bad case of Chemobrain from the Cancer I am fighting and it has taken a lot of my vision so if you need to write back and ask me what I meant. have a great day You will make it my friend. And I hope you get something out of this one other thing avoid negative people we are like a sponge and soak up their bs I had to dump several people years ago because after being around them I always felt worse than before. think about that and see if anyone seems to be dragging you down.
