... tolerate 37.5 mg xr..but thinks this helps me with social anxiety and panic..maybe not so much depression at this dose..he says the dose I take is a placebo effect..anyone else having good results on 37.5mg XR Effexor?
Hi Jerst I am on 37.5, have tampered off to that level. I tried to come off
of it but found that I needed to have it. I am also taking Lamictal. together
they are keeping me in a pretty good place. We are all different I would
urge you to talk with your doctor and tell him of your concerns.
In my opinion there is no such thing as a "placebo affect" if it works, it works. Your best bet is to sit down with doc, be honest & tell him/her exactly how and what you feel, and go from there, if they are worth their salt as a doctor you'll be feeLing better in no time! There are so many "add on" drugs, be patient our can only get better :^)
I'm with Kaw06 on this one.
I hear that I am having placebo effects when on some meds too. The doctors just don't get it that some meds affect me very strongly so a low dose is often all I need and all I can handle too.
I am on 25mg of Zoloft and it handles the general anxiety I was having really well. My psych doc thinks I should be on a higher dose but the side effects are too much for me.
Yeah... not true. Depends on what type of metabolizer your body is. Fast metabolizers need higher doses, slower ones need less. I know MANY who get significant effect from 37.5..Also many anti-d's can go from causing fatigue to being stimulating, or vice versa..wait out a bit and see.
