I have been useing Effexor XR for 7 yrs. I have recently been feeling anxious and slightly depressed. I would rather just stay in bed. I have talked to my Dr. about it and she has finally agreed to up it to 150mg. I also have tried the generic brand and how I'm feeling now is how I felt when on the generic. I'm hopeing increasing my dose will make me feel normal again.
Hello scattered 42. I was on Effexor and it might be said that its one of perhaps two in my lifetime that I had to stop taking due to some fairly bad side effects. Having said that, certainly an increase might very well do the trick. You've been taking it for some time. More often than not, especially in regards to psychiatric drugs, after a period of time, our system becomes tolerant and the dose is increased. This is repeated, then it reaches the level of safety issues, its then stopped and another drug takes its place. The cycle is then repeated. Regards, pledge
Hello Scattered 42, i too am on effexor/venlafaxine. I was 75 mg for about 3 years and doing good until i started to feel anxious and agitaded. To make a long story short 10 months later and 3 AD's later i am back on Venlafaxin, but now i am taking 225mg. I dont feel normal, but i do feel better. I prefer venlafaxine over effexor, they say its the same, but they cant fool me. LOL Hang in there - God Bless - Nena
