Is it possible for wellbutrin to decrease the effectiveness of effexor ?

Not really. Wellbutrin is often added to another antidepressant because it acts on the brain chemical dopamine where as the other antidepressants do not. It should help the condition, not decrease the effectiveness of the other antidpressant.
