... I was taking citalopram for 6 weeks and after feeling a bit better I went back down hill. Not sure if this drug is stronger or weaker or what? I have major and I mean major obsessive thoughts which take up so much of my time sat talking to myself complaining and ranting about what ever is in my head. It needs to stop these pills aren't helping
Hi, kirsty! Time for a talk with your prescribing doctor. You don't mention the dosage you're taking but it may be an initial dose which could be substantially increased for a better effect. Also, 6 weeks is long enough for a *fair trial* so if you're already on a higher dose you may need to transition onto another medication.
Best regards and best wishes to you. Wildcat
Kirsty, I'm so sorry that meds aren't helping at this point. Your symptoms sound miserable and a bit scary.
All of us have out of whack body chemistry which is why we need the medication. Your out of whack seems to be even more so. Please don't loose heart!!!
Please talk with your doctor as soon as possible. Although it can take medications several weeks to start kicking in, you should be noticing something by the 3rd week. There are a variety of medications out there and sometimes it takes several before the best combo for us is found. I've been thru what I call the "lab rat" phase myself and it's awful! Relief is around the corner, it's just finding the corner.
Best wishes and big HUGZZZ!
