I know that we are all different and each med is different for everyone, but i just wanted to know if anyone that has tried both of them and which one they like better. I am currently on 225mg of effexor and i feel better but still have anxiety. My PDR prescribed clonapin but im yet to take it because i dont like combining meds, she also prescribed celexa to help with my PMS (havent started that either). Any suggestions, thoughts would be greately appreciated
The clonapin would be ok with the effexor, I'm not sure why celexa, since you're on a medication that raises your serotonin level. If cost is a concern for you, then effexor would be your drug of choice because it has a generic. If not, then its whatever works best for you, everyone has a differenct response to anti depressants.
I have taken both cymbalta and effexor. My anxiety was still a major issue on both of them. I currently take effexor 100 mg twice a day and do take klonopin along with it. As pledge said, I'm sure there are some side effects between antidepressants and benzos or "anti-anxiety" meds as they are often referred to, I think drowsiness may be one of them, but I would be much worse off if I did not have the klonopin to take when I'm having major anxiety and the initial drowsiness I had when I first starting taking it isn't a problem anymore. It definitely does seem to help calm me, and there are plenty of times when I am feeling well enough that I don't need to take it. It builds up in your system, so you would probably only have withdraws if you took it regularly for a long time and then just stopped. Just my experience, hope it helps some.
I was on celexa for 3 years, it stop working and I had bad emotional mood swing,so I was switched to effexor. The effexor caused serious hallucinations. The cymbalta is working so far. Ive been on it 5 weeks and just recently, I am feeling emotional again. I don't know , I which there was a better way to deal with things
