We have tried everything paper towels, towels, Wick away Amour T-Shirts. He is taking a 1/4 tablet of morphine for pain. The pain goes away, but there is no sleep with the freezing, chilling after effects of the night sweats. It is in the day too but nothing like the night time. I was going to ask the doctor for Effexor I know it is for the menopause; but his systems are the same.
An antidepressant like effexor could help your brother in other ways too. Fighting cancer is a rough thing to go thru. And his doc could order a long acting morphine so that he always had something in his body to prevent the pain, rather then chasing after bad pain with the rapid acting ones. Patients usually are given rapid acting ones too, if the pain gets too bad. This too could help him sleep.
