Hello. I have been battling depression/anxiety for the past 25 years. For the past 9 years I have been taking Effexor 150 mg. About 4 months ago I felt that it wasn't providing the results that I had become used to. My family doctor and I decided to up the dosage to 225mg. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!! My anxiety shot through the roof and I have been unable to return to work because of the major anxiety I just can't shake. About 6 weeks ago my doctor decided to add lamicital to the Effexor. I am up to 50mg into my 2nd week and am just wondering when I can expect to feel better. I usually take .5mg of Ativan twice daily just to get through the day. Has anyone out there combined the 2 drugs with any success? I am feeling I might never shake the anxiety and am tired of the battle. I have only ever been diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Thanks ahead for any advice or words of encouragement...
Gonna have to be patient and give the taper schedule a bit more time until you reach therapeutic level. Lamictal with Effexor is a good combination and may well work for you. We are all different and what works for one may not another. Give it another few weeks and you'll know if this is right for you.
Jailer95; Yes I am with Laurie on this it's going to take some more time while you build up the blood level and you well have to get to the right level they have used with good success the Lamactil to help with other medications it helps make the Effexor work better and the anxiety some But just as Laurie had said what works for one does not always for another give it some time but from what I have seen here many have been helped well with the Lamactil try and stay positive now
