Seven out of eight pups dying is a significant number. Tramadol is an opioid like prescription pain medication usually administered to humans for moderate to severe pain. Yes, I'd say that tramadol may have had some role in the death of the pups, but would agree that a veterinarian would need to make a complete examination.
Hi, it is thought that Tramadol does not pass in to the milk of lactating bitches, and is therefore safe to use. The death of the 7 pups could have happened for various reasons, one of which is known as 'Fading puppy syndrome', which can happen after any pregnancy, and isn't always because of a specific cause. I'm sorry to hear the bad news
