Today my boyfriend and I were having sex. During sex the condom broke and he came inside of me. We took the pill an hour later. But after I took the pill like an hour and a half I started to bleed. I'm suppose to get my period in 5 days? Does the pill incude your period? And how effective is it?
It often causes bleeding, but usually not that fast, usually its a few days. And it makes your period late too. Its not as effective as regular birth control, but its better then nothing. Truthfully, with all the condom problems we see here, I'd think twice about depending on them for birth control.
No, it is designed to delay ovulation not induce your period. Some women do have some bleeding a few days after they take it but some dont. Bleeding doesnt mean it did or did not work. Depending on when you took it and where you are in your cycle, it is about 80-95% effective. Being that you took it within an hour of sex is good-the sooner the better.
