Throughout my life I've always sweated more than most, mainly from my armpits and forehead. However within the last couple of years it's become much worse with sweating from under my chest and abdomen region and my back. I need to solve this problem for self esteem and confidence. I want to know how soon oxybutynin begins to work and is it something I'll need to take for the rest of my life?
Oxybutynin takes around 1-2 weeks to work. I faced the same problems, and found extreme discomfort socially due to hyperhidrosis. Oxybutynin decreased my sweating symptoms by an estimated 90% within a week. I recommend starting taking oxybutynin at night initially, due to drowsiness being a side effect, then moving on to taking it during the day. Dry mouth and skin are quite severe during the initial months, but consistent application of moisturizer and drinking plenty of water helps. I found that chills were a daily symptom, but that may change varying person to person. Overall, oxybutynin has changed my life for the better and I hope you find the answers you are looking for!

I've just been prescribed Oxybutynin for excessive sweating. Does anyone have any experience of how?
