Hi I am pushing age 30 and about 6 months ago I was diagnosed with Hypothyroid I've since then gained about 30 lbs Dr. said my body is adjusting and now the medication has set in and I need help getting the weight off. This is the most I've every weighed which is 270 and i'm not comfortable in my body and my Dr. recommended me try this before getting barbaric surgery. (Which my insurance does not cover.)
I recently started Qsymia, and I literally have to remind myself to eat. You need to push mostly protein when you eatand lots of water, because the rapid weight loss causes muscle burn and flabbiness. If you choose to try the medication route, I really suggest you concentrate on changing lifestyle habits while the weight comes off. I did the gastric bypass and had great success. Lost 90 pounds the first year, in over the past 10 years gained it all back. Having no appetite, was the key to the control. Bypass and medication do that same thing. But sooner or later you are going to have to learn how to make healthy food choices and exercise. I'm also euro thyroid, my thyroid gland had to be removed because it was over active (hyperthyroidism).
