I recently got tested positive for Chlamydia, and the doctor proscribed me , 2 pink pills 500 in each , which total 1000. How effective will this cure me?
Chlamydia is an infection caused by the bacteria Chlamydia trachomatis. It is most often spread through sexual contact. The usual treatment for chlamydia is antibiotics including azithromycin. Sexual partners must be treated so they do not pass the infection back and forth.
According to CDC (Centers for Disease Control & Protection) azithromycin 1 g orally in a single dose is around 98% effective in treating chlamydia - provided it is taken as directed and sexual partners are treated.
A person may become infected with chlamydia many times so to prevent reinfection you must practice safe sex and wear condoms.
