This drug is terrible.
Regarding the nerve test you are talking about which is probably an EMG test, find a doctor to do it who is very experienced, preferably in a hospital.
My first two EMG were horribly painful. One was a private practice connected to a major health hospital. The second one was at a neurologist's office who was connected with a major university.
The 3rd EMG which I was by that time terrified of, was no more painful than my fibromyalgia. Yes, it hurt, but not terrible. That test was done by a neurologist directly in the hospital.
So if it's terrible pain again, I would get up and leave and explain that the terrible pain is not necessary.
