Has anyone ever been prescribed duloxetine (cymbalta) an SNRI for migraine prevention, and if so has it been successful? I have read it may be useful for migraines but not much info out there and i am desperate as nothing is working for me. Due back to see the neurologist next month so wondered if duloxetine was worth discussing with him.
This medication may work for you for that application. It does come with a variety of unpleasant side effects, which may be better than the migraine, just be aware it takes a minimum of 2-3 weeks to settle in, and that is true for every dosage change be it + or -. Also keep in mind once you start it, it takes time and patience to get off of it.
Summary; may be worth a try, just know it's not a stop and start medication. Keep me posted, I have heard of few thus far who have tried it for migraine and been successful, you may be the first! Keep me posted.
