My 16 year old started using it August 24. She has smelled like armpit for 10 years, at least... and it hasn't changed with any deodorant so far, including this one. Now what? She drives me nuts with it telling me all evening long, every night she smells sweaty. I just sent her to her room, telling her that telling me every 2 minutes doesn't change it. I'm beyond frustrated. HELP!!!
I know this is an old question, but I felt compelled to answer it. Drysol is meant to be used at night. The underarms are to be washed and dried, then the drysol is applied under the arm and wrapped with plastic wrap to seal it in for at least 5-8hours every night until the sweating decreases/stops, then she can use it up to twice a week afterward to maintain decreased sweating. Your daughter needs to keep up daily hygiene rituals by washing herself every day. Also, some deodorants don’t mix well with certain people’s body chemistry. Finding one the works could help her tremendously.
I understand that your daughter may be getting on your nerves, but she is at an age where this is affecting her socially and mentally and what she needs is a parent who supports her and sympathizes with her anxiety over it. Coming on here to say she smells for 10 years with a username “wreckybeckysmom” leads me to believe you have more issues than just the drysol to deal with. I hope your daughter gets the help she needs, because this is something that can affect her self-esteem and as parents, we are the ones that need to teach our children to love themselves first. If all else fails, Botox under the arms should stop her sweating, but it’s expensive. Some medical insurances sometimes cover it if a doctor can prove that she has used it for more than 3 months with no improvement or she has had a negative reaction to the medication. I hope your daughter finds a solution to her problem.
