I want to try Botox for migraines, but do not want human albumin in the ingredients.
Are there any drugs in the Botox family that do not contain human albumin?

Hi Im sorry that I don't have that information to give to you. However the reason that I'm replying is because I recently got the injections and my dr claimed there aren't any side effects and id be fine going to work within 30 minutes after the injections. Not only was that not true but I left with a migraine that I didn't have coming into the appt. Very frustrating. It has been 2 weeks since the injections and I am experiencing more migraines plus my forehead, where they injected me, feels stiff like a face mask is hardened on it. I was getting migraines everyday and they only offered this to me because I am young and already tried almost all of migraine medicine and advil/tylenol/aleve etc does nothing for me. My migraines are worse since getting the injections and my head feels so stuffed as well. These side effects wound up putting me on sick leave for 2 weeks. I am now going to physical therapy due to stiffness going to my neck. I know reactions vary from person to person especially since migraines are different for everyone. I just couldn't scroll past this without letting you know about the side effects I've been having in hopes you don't have to go through this. I know I didn't answer your question originally but I hope I could give you some insight from someone who is living it.

Sorry to hear about your reactions. That is really bizarre that your migraines are worse since the Botox. On one of my Botox injections, I had difficulty keeping my head up from stiffness in my neck. I would be interested if physical therapy can help you. In my case, it took a couple weeks to get much better with no intervention. I wonder if PT could help. Also I always experienced a tighter forehead. Women get Botox to take away the wrinkles. But it never bothered me. BUT the really GREAT news that I have to tell you is that acupuncture has given me far better relief than the Botox gave me. I had severe 24/7 migraines following a major stroke. Since getting acupuncture twice a week, now I rarely get a strong migraine. It has changed my life. I can do far more in a day and can walk distances. Whereas before I could only do limited things in a day and could not walk much at all or my migraines would spike. With you it might only be acupuncture once a week or once a month.

And this is my third acupuncturist who has done the best job yet. So if you don't see results after 3 or 4 times fairly close together, then find another acupuncturist. The ones in the US that say "community" in their title are very reasonable. E.g. my sessions are only $20 each. Don't worry about the needles. They are extremely small. I have fibromyalgia, so my nerves are on high alert to react to everything and they don't bother me. So to both of you, I would give it a try.
I have been told to try acupuncture so maybe I’ll give it a try since migraines are still so debihiltating. I felt a lot of tension in my neck as well and still do. I’ll try anything at this point! I’m glad you are feeling better!
I would be interested to know if you do try it and what were the results. My migraines were severely limiting my life. When I would have to go to the ER about every 3 weeks, my neurologist put me on opiate patches (Butrans). Now feeling so much better, I decided to decrease them and have been successful with 2 decreases. Now doing my 3rd decrease. I really wish you the best.
