... methamphetamines, and opiates. I have a prescription for vicodin and Tylenol 3, but the other day I took percocet which I don't have a prescription for. Will the percocet show up as something different then the vicodin and Tylenol 3?
Yes, they show up differently, percocets are oxycodone and acetaminophen, vicodin is hydrocodone and acetaminophen and Tylenol #3 is codeine and acetaminophen. The metabolites are different for hydrocodone and oxycodone. If they do a standard test for opiates they both may not show up, as some tests for opiates only show morphine derivatives-which the codeine will show up on, but the other two have to be tested for specifically. If they are testing for both hydrocodone and oxycodone you may get a dirty test for the percocet. I hope this makes sense.
How long after taking the percocet, do u have to take the urine-drug-screen? It most definately will show up different than a vicodin, or a tylenol w/codeine! It's oxycodone, not hydrocodone, which is a mistake many of people make, because they don't understand the difference in narcotics! Depending on the mg's and how long after taking it that you go in for ur screening, will depend on if it's going to show up at all. If you give it at least 48 hours, drinking lots of water, or ice tea, you should be good! Hope this helps!
