My dr prescribed amitriptoline 25mg for my fibromalgia pain and migraines, but i think inwould rather hurt than to gain weight.
I had constant headaches snd eye pressure for years.
A nurse recommended Imitrex. It is my "miracle drug"!
Within 20 min, my forehead relaxed and no more grimacing .
You are not to use it on daily basis because of long term effects. Insurance pays for 9/month even though the doc wrote for #30.
I found that taking one daily for a week was enough. I now only need it 1-2/month.
Good luck to you
I find Imatrex (generic fine too) is the best medication I have ever had for my migraines. Also I take a muscle relaxer at bedtime which really helps as most of my migraines were early mornings. Cymbalta has been my best fibro med (no significant weight gain). Along with massages, warm Epsom salts baths & stretching or yoga. I've had fm for 25yrs and keep it managed with these things. Good luck
