Hi, Im doing my vet nurse cert and I have to research what to give a cat for pain relief prior to surgery in a clinic. This is for a 14yo persian with a fractured pelvis
I dont know if cats can take it but I an elderly boxer who was arthritic and had cancer (she was the very best friend I could of asked for and it broke my heart when she passed) she took carprofen and it worked very well.
Hi, bmf! Opioids are the safest and most effective analgesic agents available in modern medicine. Have you considered buprenorphine (Buprenex), tramadol, or gabapentin?
Best of luck with your certification!
