Does drinking alcohol while on antibiotics make the antibiotics ineffective?

Hi Milton, it makes the antibiotics less effective but not totally ineffective. The issue you have been prescribed a dose to deal with a specific infection, but if you reduce its effectiveness, it may not work in clearing the infection which would mean you may need another course of stronger antibiotics. Normally a script lasts about 6 days, so it's not that long to go without a drink.
