I'm planning on going to the DR soon as I think I have PCOS. How do I bring this up to the DR without sounding like one of those people who just self diagnose?
Make a list of your symptoms and if you can remember include dates of flares with as much description as you recall. You can provide this list and mention PCOS appeared when you tried to do some research to see if you could improve your set of symptoms- the doctor should be amenable to considering a PCOS diagnosis if your symptoms meet the criteria, or they may be able to offer an alternative cause, or want to order tests before making any diagnostic suggestions. It's just really good you're going to see your doctor soon and are so on top of the situation. Best wishes!
