5 days. Blood pressure is still around 180/70. Heart rate down to 50. Do I need to go back?
It's time to call your Dr. and let him or her know where your BPs have been reading. Let him make the decision on what to do next. Don't take it into your own hands. The buspar is for anxiety. You're only on 50 mg of metoprolol, which is a beta blocker and the drug that helps lower your BP. Your Dr. may choose to increase that but let him decide. You would run out of the drug if you increased it yourself, plus there are other considerations.
BonnyC and really that blood pressure is not bad at all the old reading was way to high what you might do when you do go in to see the doctor again if they did not do this already take your blood pressure machine in and get it calibrated to the doctors machine also so your getting the same readings. But for now just call the office and let them know if what your blood pressure is now and the doctor can make an adjustment or if im right he or she may just leave it as it is for a while for now you should take your blood pressure a few times a day after you have been sitting down for 5 to 10 minutes to get a good adverage of what it really is.And don't worry about the readings at where they are now.
