I was taking vicodin, but was afraid of becoming addicted so I asked for something else, he gave me Mobic but it did nothing; I am just afraid of another month of experimenting in pain :(
Feldene is an NSAID, not a narcotic. Mobic is also an NSAID. Fear of addiction shouldn't be a factor when taking something for pain. When we take a medication for pain, our bodies become dependent on it. This is NOT addiction. Addiction is a pathological condition in which more is taken then prescribed for the purpose of getting high, regardless of the consequences. Our bodies develop tolerances to opiods, and we have to have the dose increased. This is NOT addiction either.
I totally agree with kaimamas answer. Unless you find you are taking the vicodin or another narcotic type drug for the way it makes you feel (high), you don't get addicted. That doesn't mean that all can take them . Some people have addictive type personalities. That's how you would know if you are becomeing addicted or not. If you are watching the clock to take the next pill or taking it early when the pain is not as bad as it should be to take another one etc... Then you may have a problem. If you can take them as prescribed ,& not running out early , you are not addicted to them. Eventually long term taking of pain pills does lead to tolerance of the dose & it may need to be increased, but that is not addiction... Mary
