The Dr. discontinued Geodon and Vyvanse and prescribed this after the child started experiencing severe facial tics.
Cogentin will only work if he is also on Geodon. It counteracts side effects of the neuroleptics. It won't help tics. If the movements are continuous, it is not a tic. I hope he only prescribed it for a few days. If it is tics, then guanfacine (Intuiv) may help. Tics can sometimes be started when a stimulant is started. Once they go away, you can re-start the stimulant if it was helpful.
