My hot flashes are all day all night. I had breast cancer a year ago an take meds for it. Meds also give you hot flashes. I am 52 and post menopause. Dr.has also prescribed eflixor.
I have taken Gabapentin for about 15 yrs for severe hot flashes & it works great. I take 900 mg 3 times a day. It is a higher dose but we started at a lower dose & had to increase up until they were effective.
But if you are late or miss a dose you can tell how well they actually work.
I had a total hysterectomy when I was 30 & could not take any kind of hormone therapy due to a blood disorder.
it usually takes about a month to be effective.
Have the Gabapentin helped you with your got flashes? Best of luck, kathy
