I'm worried it might comeback worse since my papule acne is pretty mild. How does doxy work? I definitely don't want to take it longer than 3 months of my skin will get worse once I'm off. Any advice is appreciated. I'm 23, healthy wt, healthy diet and lifestyle. Recently stopped drinking diary as well.
The doxycycline won't make your acne worse, it's lack of antibiotic presence won't be helping prevent bacterial infections. Method of action: Doxycycline inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, so the bacteria fail to grow and develop normally. It's effective for a large variety of bacteria.
Expect your skin to get worse once you stop the Doxy unless the acne has completely stopped. If you're still taking the tretinoin that will be helpful. Here's a link to a few hundred people's reviews of Doxy so that this information may help you decide what you want to do:
