I've done the slow taper of Suboxone as suggested, started at 12 mg Suboxone, now down to .75 mg & 1 mg. and I CAN'T SLEEP due to restlessness & serious restless legs and arms. Is it b/c I need to stay at 1 mg. longer or are sleepness nights expected? Should I try meds to sleep so I can continue to taper down? PLEASE HELP!
Take tylenol PM as there are no narcos, hot HOT baths wil helpwith the restlessness and stay in as long as you need. Im on day four and that has helped. Obviously hook your self up with some imodium ad. Also Melatonin which you can find at any grocery store, calms you down and helps you sleep. This is up to you and you dr but even just a couple benzos (be carfeful as they are addictive, but they help. (librium and chlonodine are usually what detox centers provide.. Not great but anything helps. It will help with the anxiety and tightness in the chest. This will also help with sweating and restlessness. Good luck on your journey to sobriety.
I am so sorry, I just saw this, I do the site from my phone and it doesn't always have the same questions in the same order. There are some rx meds that help with this, one is clonidine, it helps with anxiety, restless leg and insomnia. When I got down to .25 mgs, I took mine at night, and that also helped. I got on a low dose of amitriptyline, which is an antidepressant that helps with sleep issues, I took 25 mgs per night. You might try asking your subs doctor or other doctor for a low dose of an antidepressant. Walking for exercise truly will help regulate the eat-sleep-wake cycles and lessens both severity of withdrawal and length of withdrawal and it helps produce endorphins, those help mentally and physically. It is not an overnight thing, you have to keep it up. Do NOT do this if you are physically impaired and aren't supposed to exercise, but for those who aren't, start slow with 10 minutes twice daily and add a minute or 2 every few days.
Once you get to 20 minutes of walking, you can just do it once a day, but keep adding time if you can. I swear it got me off subs and helped me stabilize on lowered doses lots more quickly. I am a couch potato by nature, not a health nut, I assure you it helps. I came off wd free and am still walking. Pattishan ps been off nearly 8 months now, feel fine.
i have restless leg,s from anti-histamine,s .it get,s really bad , but my docter gave my REQUIP made for restless leg,s , it stopped it about 20 to 30 minutes after i took it , this was before i was ever on any kind of pain meds, or Suboxone, and there is i think they are called mood stabilizers , to help you sleep, seroquel, neurontin, which helps , pain and sleep , alot of other thing,s , the Requip for restless legs i have personally used , it works , and my counsler talked to me about the other meds , so don,t try without talking to your Dr. first which i,m sure you won,t, trying to help , but not give and indication you should try these with your docter , signed ,scaredRU
