im on the 20mg mentioned above & 5mg amlodipine but my BP remains consistently in the low 140's to upper 130's... i've been on this treatment for over 6 mos... can i do away with the 5mg & double the lisinopril without causing harm to myself?
Can I double my dose of 20 mg lisinopril/hydrochlothorazide if my BP remains in the low 140's?

or would it be better to do away with the lisinopril (which i've been on for 3-4 yrs.. with no return to normal BP reading) & go to double doses of the Amlodipine (5mg)?
You can't do away with anything. You're bp isn't down to normal and that is what your dr ordered. If it were up to me I'd increase your amlodipine. Most people with high bp take more then one bp med. They all lower your bp but they do it differently, and the combination is usually better then just increasing the one drug. I'm on 3.
