I've just started taking lamotrigine for depression after trialing almost 10 different medicines over the last year. I feel as though this is my last resort and not sure what I will do if this doesn't work. I've read good things - people who have been in a similar situation - and have had a good outcome with lamotrigine, so I'm hoping for the same. I have a young family and want nothing more to be a good dad for my boys. Thanks for your advice. Andy
Please don't take this the wrong way, but I really think you're doing yourself a disservice by comparing yourself and the way you're expecting yourself to feel against what other people experience.
With that being said, I noticed an immediate change at 50 mg, although I now T ake 300 mg per day. It took a period of about a year for us to build up to that point, and that was higher than we expected it to go, but it was what I needed for it to be in therapeutic zone for ME. Most often, the therapeutic soon is between 100 and 200 mg per day
