It should be dosed at the regular prescribed amount. It is a long acting insulin and will not effect your blood sugar right away.

Lantus is your long acting insulin it is also called your basil insulin. With a blood sugar reading of 70 and its time for your shot of lantus I would take the shot as it is not going to affect you right away. This insulin provides your body with a steady amount of insulin over the course of 12 to 24 hours depending on how you take it and it is very slow acting.
