Not alone. It isn't an anti depressant. It does help if you're on an anti depressant.

From this site:

Lamictal (lamotrigine) is an anti-epileptic medication, also called an anticonvulsant. Lamictal is used either alone or in combination with other medications to treat epileptic seizures in adults and children. Lamictal is also used to delay mood episodes in adults with bipolar disorder (manic depression)"

It is not normally used for Major Depression

It sure is helping with my anxiety and depression. I am tapering off of
Effexor and hope lamictal will work alone.

Good for you, Kitty. Lamictal is a mood stabilizer and that's exactly what it does for me. No low-lows, No high-highs. (Sounds like a Country western song) Too bad we all can't benefit from the same med. We're all so doggon different.
