I had a bilateral salpingo oopherectomy one year ago when I was 63 due to ovarian cysts on both ovaries. Prior to surgery it was never explained to me that I would permanently have zero libido as a result of this procedure.. I am a young(ish) 64 year old & feel very sorry that this part if my life has now been permanently lost. Does anyone know if there is any medication that is available to help with this?
I commiserate having tried most things (for men) in the last 20 odd years. Once desire goes it affects so many areas of your life. Once upon a time they may have suggested estrogen supplements but I think they were positively linked to higher rates of breast cancer. I have no idea what they do with women with no natural estrogen these days. See your lady doctor or OBGYN as I would almost guarantee that a male doctor will lack even basic empathy.
