My Great Dane was diagnosed with Baqcterial Pneumonia three years ago. He underwent two trachea washes and then put on Ciprophalaxin and Amoxicillin. He is currently still taking these drugs when he has a recurrent episode of the infection. I was wondering if his system is becoming immune to the drugs.
If he's taking longer to get better now, I'd ask his vet about it. If it seems to be working as well as it used to , then he's fine. Poor baby, why does he get pneumonia so often. My old guy is 15 and he has the nose that looks like he ran into a wall, so he is prone to respiratory disease and has never had any.
