I have peptic ulcers and wanted to know should I take the uloric for my gout. I afraid of complications with my ulcers since I cannot take aspirin
No, Uloric does not contain aspirin. It contains febuxostat, which is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor that reduces the production of uric acid in your body. Uric acid buildup can lead to gout or kidney stones.
Uloric is used to treat high blood concentrations of uric acid in patients with gout.
As far as I know there is no contraindication of taking it if you have ulcers, but please check with your doctor and if it does irritate your stomach please stop taking it.
