Does the effacacy if omeprozole decrease after years or use? Is an increase in dosage recommended?

I have not found any evidence of patients building tolerance to omeprazole. If omperazole is no longer working for you, consider switching to a different PPI.

Important tips for PPI users:
1. Calcium, calcium, calcium. Low stomach acid reduces your body's ability to absorb calcium. Supplement with calcium CITRATE + vitamin D.
2. PPIs should be used on a short-term basis (<4 weeks) for most users. Ask your doc if it's time to discontinue the drug.

Cheers!
