I have been taking Warfarin over a year and have stayed at 2.0 average. The last two check ups - four weeks apart I have been at 3.0. I don't want that number to go any higher - the only thing that has changed is that I was told to take lopermide because some of the other drugs I am on cause a big problem in that dept. I had a single left lung transplant in 2003 - in 2009 I had a blood clot in my lung and left leg. So I take warfarin.
There is no contraindication between loperamide hydrochloride and warfarin. The drug does, however, contain sucrose. Imodium.(Loperamide HCl) is used by many people for the control of diarrhoea. It is not a dangerous drug. For future reference, you will normally find a list of active substances, also contraindications listed on the data sheet enclosed with the medication. It also usually states the adverse reactions that might occur. You would be advised to obtain details from your pharmacist if you are in doubt.
Hope this helps
