I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about eight years ago, I have been on medication for years, it has been adjusted over the years and changed in some cases. I am curious to know if anyone has ever tried it for that reason for if any studies have ever been done?
I use weed every night to ease the symptoms and get a decent sleep. I get a fairly consistent 4-5 hours with crappy stuff, and 6-8 hours with good stuff. I have used a bit during the day if I have to get something done and I don't really feel up to it but I do try to limit that use. It is really important if you are going to do this that you get medical advice first (I talked to my pain doctor, physio and gp about it before starting) and if you can control the type of weed you use, there are strains that work better. Lots of info is available on the internet.
Also, instead of smoking, look into getting a vaporizer. If you are not a smoker, the vaporizer is a good alternative so you are not inhaling any carcinogens. Again, there is a lot of information on the internet, including the results of studies done by the government about what is in the vapor as opposed to smoke.
Good luck with this. Depending on where you live, this choice can be easy to very difficult to implement. I live in Canada, so we are currently in a very grey area, legally speaking.
