been told that it reduces the effect if taking milk before the tablets
Hi scotty 41
Not as far as I know, since starting Methotrexate 10 months ago, I haven't been told not to take milk before the tablets. The Rheumatology Nurse told me to take them directly after the largest meal of the day, in the evening, as fatigue can be a problem if taken earlier on. I take my tablets with a large glass of water. I've been doing okay and my condition has stablised since starting on the Methotrexate.
If you are concerned, you should raise this with your prescribing physician, and hopefully they will be able to reassure you.
Good luck and hope you get on well with the Methotrexate.
