- synthroid, underactive thyroid, thyroid suppression test, tsh suppression, hypothyroidism - after thyroid removal, chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis, hypothyroidism, blood disorders
Yes, Our Thyroid works like the any other organ that we have two of, if one is taken out or is no longer serving us, we need to utilize replacement therapy. Now your hormore replacement may be minor in dosage because you will not require alot but sometime the blood work early on shows a false positive and I advise to take the meds and stay on top of it with your dr and endocrinologist.
Yes it is important to take meds after the thyroid is removed.
I had my right thyroid removed and 10% of the left removed two years ago
I have had my meds adjusted to higher dosage and I am now taking Levolthyroxine 150
I have developed symptoms (tremors and dizziness). I have read a lot of information on a natural med called Armour Thyroid and I will be making an appointment with my doctor to see if he will switch me to it - I am assuming my symptoms are caused by my current thyroid med due to the fact that I have had extensive blood work done, a CT scan of my head, a chest x-ray and an EKG. The EKG was abnormal so I just finished a cardio stress test and am waiting for those results. In the mean time I have been given meds for dizziness and anxiety (which I don't have). So as soon as I get the stress test results I will schedule to see my thyroid doctor. I really haven't felt that good since having my thyroid removed and I don't like to take pills so hopefully I will get to the bottom of my situation soon
